This August, the Boothbay Region Art Foundation will host a special exhibition highlighting the artwork of UMVA (Union of Maine Visual Artists) Midcoast members. Titled “The Power of Water,” this show features pieces celebrating the beauty and vitality of water in all its forms.
The Juried exhibit will include over 30 works across various media including painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and more. Participating artists range from emerging talents to established professionals who find inspiration in the rivers, lakes, ponds, and ocean surrounding the Midcoast.
“We’re proud to showcase UMVA members creating stunning artwork based on this essential element we depend on,” said Foundation Director Isabelle Porter. She expects the universally appealing theme to draw interest from both locals and summer visitors.
An opening reception will take place on August 5th from 5-7pm, providing the chance to mingle with featured artists while enjoying refreshments. The “Power of Water” exhibit will remain on display through September 2nd.
As UMVA’s mission is to advance visual arts in Maine, the Boothbay Region Art Foundation looks forward to hosting this meaningful showcase of member talent focused on such a resonant subject.
