This August, MOTHERS Art Gallery in Kennebunkport presents two complementary solo exhibits showcasing the work of painters Adele Bruno and sculptor Raymond Lister. Bruno’s bold abstract acrylics will be displayed alongside Lister’s flowing contemporary bronzes.
“By exhibiting Adele and Raymond together, visitors can appreciate the exciting dialogue between two- and three-dimensional art,” said gallery owner Wanda Simmons. “Though different mediums, their art shares a vibrant, expressive quality.”
Bruno’s large-scale paintings feature energetic colors and brushwork influenced by the Maine landscape. Lister casts his fluid bronze forms using the ancient lost-wax process. Both artists distill natural inspiration into their chosen medium.
An opening reception takes place on August 5th from 5-7pm. Bruno and Lister will be present to answer questions about their latest works on display in the two concurrent exhibits.
By showcasing painters and sculptors side-by-side, MOTHERS Art Gallery hopes to provide a rich experience of contrasting and complementary artistic perspectives throughout the month.
