Jeremy Barnard, Fine Art Photographer, Hosts Open Studio

On August 19th, the photographer Jeremy Barnard will be opening up his studio in Rockport, Maine for visitors to see his creative process firsthand. Barnard’s open studio event is an opportunity for fine art photography enthusiasts to engage with the artist and learn about his techniques.

Barnard is known for his contemplative black and white landscape photographs, often focusing on the rugged coastline of Maine. His minimalist compositions capture the quiet solitude of nature. In his Rockport studio, Barnard will showcase new work and discuss his artistic approach.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my process with visitors,” said Barnard. “My studio is where I experiment with chemicals, papers, and printing techniques to achieve certain effects. It’s a very hands-on craft.”

In addition to seeing Barnard’s workspace, attendees can watch him print photographs using traditional darkroom methods. He’ll explain how he composes shots in the field, then brings them to life through careful darkroom work.

Barnard’s open studio event is free and open to the public. Fine art collectors will have the opportunity to purchase original prints. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport.

As one of the preeminent fine art photographers working in Maine today, Barnard hopes the open studio provides inspiration to both established and aspiring artists. He encourages photographers of all skill levels to come see his creative world up close.
