This summer, The Adam Gallery in Castine is proud to celebrate 20 years of showcasing fine art in the Midcoast region. Since opening in 2003, The Adam has exhibited hundreds of established and emerging Maine artists through an array of solo, small group, and juried exhibitions.
Originally located above a laundromat on Castine’s Main Street, founders Adam and Annie Paige moved The Adam Gallery to larger street-level space in 2013. Today, their Main Street location hosts over a dozen exhibitions annually spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and more.
“We feel so fortunate to have connected countless visitors over 20 years with incredible artists living and working in Maine,” said Annie Paige. “This anniversary is a true milestone.”
To mark the occasion, The Adam Gallery will host a free public reception on August 10th from 5-7pm. Featured exhibitions include paintings by Mildred Bachrach and mixed media works by Arthur Dawson.
Looking ahead, Paige aims to continue introducing emerging talent, while also highlighting established Maine artists. Her passion remains growing The Adam into the leading showcase for contemporary art in the Midcoast and beyond.
