On August 5th and 6th, the painter Jon Mort will open up his art studio in Tenants Harbor, Maine to visitors interested in seeing his creative process firsthand. During this Open Studio weekend, guests can view Mort’s latest oil paintings and pastel drawings.
Mort is known for his impressionist coastal landscapes capturing the rustic charm of the Maine waterfront. His subtle color palette and textured brushwork convey the tranquility of the seaside. For this open house event, Mort will present new pieces focused on summer in the Midcoast region.
“I enjoy sharing my working environment and discussing my artistic approach with attendees,” said Mort. “My studio overlooking the harbor provides constant inspiration.”
In addition to viewing finished artworks, visitors will have the opportunity to watch Mort at work during live painting demonstrations. He’ll explain his process for translating the sights around him into textured oils on canvas.
Mort’s studio is located above the Black Harpoon bar at 6 Jacobs Avenue in Tenants Harbor. The Open Studio runs from 10am to 5pm on August 5th and 6th. Parking is available nearby and attendance is free and open to the public.
